Why Don’t You Just Get Up?

You’re not doing anything.

Has someone ever said that to you?
Probably.

It’s like you stop breathing because you can’t get off the couch – that’s where I plant myself when I’m depressed.

Surrounded by color, the smells, the cigarettes, the coffee, you try to maintain some connection with – guarded, of course – the world where there are other emotions bedsides the darkest ones – like Depression. And it is difficult.

Very difficult.

Inner turmoil.
Constant battles for survival.

Yet you are doing nothing.
