It’s now 11 PM, and cars are still on the streets. Apparently Baltimore has a sense of time very similar to Mediterranean cultures. Oh. So the curfew was set at 10. Not bad. But what “Not bad” means is that they have until 11 before the cops seriously start sweeping the streets. Just now, 7 cars were stopped at the Red light, 300 yards away.
At 11, a helicopter was in the air. Not nearby. But you could hear it, all right. That means they’re starting to get serious. But the ethos of the cultural stretches improbability to a reasonable level. If everything is quiet, why not use the streets?
