Astronomy Other Planets, Other Stars, Other Worlds Venus and Jupiter Conjunction

A Glimpse of the Universe

So excited to have captured the Venus and Jupiter conjunction tonight, despite it being with the iPhone, and despite it being above a hazy and urban sky. I was thrilled simply to be able to see it … (Time to get my Nikon D90 out of storage, I think.)

Venus, the brightest star in our sky was not as camera-shy as the distant Jupiter, which appears as a spec. I stretched the shots as far as I could …

The full Moon was much kinder, however. Two shots of the Moon, just a few miles apart, show how the beauty of the Moon shifts, depending on where we are.
